Groom and Shape Brows

Brush brows gently and tweeze along the natural brow lines. Here is how to use a pencil as a guide to create flattering arches:

Step 1: Shape

Brush brows gently, and tweeze along the natural brow line. Use a pencil to guide you on the shape. See illustration.

1. Hold a pencil upright along the sides of the nose. Your brows should align with your inner eyes. Tweeze any hairs outside of these lines.

2. Angle the pencil from the tip of the nose to the middle of the irises. This is where the highest point of your brows’ arches should be.

3. Angle the pencil so it touches the outer edge of the nose and intersects with the outer corner of the eyes. This is where your brows should end. Tweeze any hairs that extend past that point.
Hold a pencil upright along the side of the nose to help guide you in shaping brows.

Define Brows

Well-groomed, defined brows can make the face look years younger.

Step 2: Define

1. Choose a color that matches or is slightly lighter than your eyebrow color.

2. Pencil or mineral eye color? Pencils deliver a precise line, ideal for filling in sparse brows. Full brows look great with a subtle shading of mineral eye color in a shade close to your brow color. Try Mary Kay® Mineral Eye Color in Espresso.

3. Make short, light, feather-like strokes along the brow. Brush brows to soften and blend.

4. Finish with clear Mary Kay® Brow Gel to set brows in place without adding color.

Expert Extra: Fill in Sparse Brows

Learn how to fill in sparse brows for a more youthful look.

Sparse brows can be filled in to make them look thicker. First, define the shape of the brows with a brow definer pencil in a shade lighter than your eyebrow color. Then, go over brows again with a pencil in a darker shade to emphasize the shape.
